Riot was so impressed with the work that they commissioned Fortiche to make an animated series, which took them several years to create. After the release of the first season, Riot announced that there would be a second season and that it would take less time to produce. Performed by Imagine Dragons ft J.I.D.. Arcane tells the story of two young orphaned sisters, growing up and getting into trouble in the dual cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends, and while it drops you right into this fictional world, time and care is taken to set up locations and characters in a commendable, “show-don’t-tell” manner.
The animation is simply exquisite
The solid character development and world-building make this a thoroughly enjoyable watch without knowing anything about the game. As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be beyond anything I’ve ever seen in an anime series before. There’s incredible attention to detail.
